Liverpool Closing on Shakhtar's Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Liverpool FC are close to landing Armenian star and Shakhtar Donestk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan who is rated at around £22million according to the Telegraph.

The Reds are confident of securing a deal for the 24-year old in the coming weeks despite the current situation surrounding strikers Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll with the latter no closer to agreeing a permanent switch to West Ham.

The Merseyside team has also been given some confidence with the fact that the Ukrainian side had made two big signings from Brazil in the form of Wellington Nem and Fernando which could be replacements for himself and Manchester City recruit Fernandinho.

Mkhitaryan scored 25 goals and made 10 assists from just 29 league appearances for Shakhtar which is phenomenal effort considering that he is a midfielder.
