It is believed that the 25 year old is to join the English side for an initial fee of around 1 million pounds with an option available to make the deal permanent for an extra 3.5 million.
Cissokho is thought to be on the radar of Rodgers as he wants the former Porto left-back to join as competition for Spaniard Jose Enrique in the upcoming Premier League season.
Cissokho joined the La Liga club only towards the end of last August and has since made 36 appearances for the club, helping them to fifth place in the league and also giving them Europa League qualification.
