It is believed that Roma coach Rudi Garcia is keen to link up with his former player as the pair spent a couple of seasons at Lille.
Gervinho has agreed to a contract and a wage but the only thing remaining is the fee which it will cost for the forward to leave.
Roma has apparently made a bid of around 8 million euros which is higher than the 6 million which was previously offered by the club.
But Arsenal want at least 10-12 million euros. Roma director Walter Sabatini is currently in London to negotiate a deal and it is expected that it will be concluded sometime in the next few days.
Gervinho who joined the Emirates club for 12 million euros from Ligue One, has made 63 appearances for Arsenal in two seasons where he has scored 11 times and has made 12 assists.
