The 31 year-old will be unveiled as the replacement for Radamel Falcao who left for AS Monaco in a big money deal but as of the moment the deal has only been agreed upon in principle.
The signing of Villa will be a massive coup for the team who qualified for the Champions League next season as they will only pay 5.1 million euros for the services of the player.
It has been revealed that this bid to secure Villa was not the highest bid made for the forward as other clubs offered a figure closer to 10 million euros.
Barcelona however will retain half of the rights to Villa with 50% of a possible future transfer away from the Madrid side going to the Catalans.
