Man City Target Benfica Striker Oscar Cardozo

Manchester City coach Manuel Pelligrini is targeting Benfica forward Oscar Cardozo who is being touted as the replacement for new Juventus signing Carlos Tevez.

After attempts to sign Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski now coming to a fail, the Eastlands club are now setting their sights on Paraguayan international Cardozo.

The 30 year old is rated at £16.5million and could well leave after a reported bust up between himself and Benfica coach Jorge Jesus.

Cardozo's agent also spoke about the situation, “Benfica know the situation and now it is in their hands. There has always been interest from the Premier League – but now this is real interest.”

Cardozo made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring an incredible 32 goals and making 8 further assists.
