Real Madrid to Swap Xabi Alonso for Marco Verratti

New Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is preparing to give his midfield a revamp and is looking to his old club Paris Saint-Germain to sign promising Italian youngster Marco Verratti.

The Madrid side have already made the acquisition of Malaga's Isco and now wants to add former Pescara central midfielder Marco Verratti to the Spanish starlet.

Verratti who was signed by Ancelotti during last Summer's transfer window for around 12 million euros could be poised to make another move if his former coach can persuade him once more.

But they won't let the 20-year old leave on the cheap which has led Ancelotti pondering a swap move with midfielder general Xabi Alonso a possible involvement.

Alonso who is currently sidelined due to a knee injury, missed out on Spain's Confederations Cup campaign where they are set to play against Brazil in tonight's final.
