The Turin side are nearing the signing of their second Manchester City player of the window with striker Carlos Tevez joining last week in a 10 million deal.
Now it appears that Aleksandar Kolarov is following the footsteps of the Argentine with the two parties hopeful of having a deal in place in the next week or so.
Kolarov who spent three seasons in the Serie A for Rome based side Lazio has fallen down the pecking order at Eastlands in recent times with Gael Clichy the preferred starter in that position.
Kolarov managed to make just 11 starts in the EPL last season with many of his appearances actually being made as a left midfielder instead of in his more preferred defensive role.
