Arsenal Striker Lukas Podolski Heading to Schalke

Arsenal could be set to let German international and former Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski leave the club on loan to Schalke in order for more playing time.

The 28 year-old wants to leave the club in order to receive the playing time he needs in order to set himself up for the upcoming World Cup to make sure he is part of Germany's charge in Brazil.

So far he has not featured regularly in Arsene Wenger's starting team plans with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlein, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud starting ahead with a possible move for Karim Benzema also being mooted.

Schalke could be the perfect place for him to get matches under his belt with current forwards Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Jefferson Farfan both struggling with injury and fitness woes.
