FC Basel and Swiss international midfielder Valentin Stocker could be set to make a move to the Bundesliga with Schalke set to make a 5 million euro bid.
It is believed that the German will make a move for Stocker once their Champions League fate is decided with the qualifications getting underway shortly where they will meet Metalist Kharkiv over two home and away legs.
If they manage to beat the Ukrainian side, they will be able to secure some more funds which the German side can lock in and then make a 4-5 million euro bid for the 24 year-old.
Both Schalke and Stocker have a lot to gain out of this possible transfer with Stocker making the step into a bigger league for his development and also Schalke get a quality midfielder to help close the gap between them and the likes of Munich and Dortmund.
In the new season commencing just last month, Stocker has already racked up 5 assists, 1 goal and a red card in just 5 appearances.
