Swansea Join Newscastle in Race for Bony

Swansea City have joined Newcastle United in the race to sign Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony who scored a massive 31 goals in the Eridivisie last season.

The Swans want another avenue to goal other than Michu with the second highest goalscorer only notching a total of 5 goals in the Premier League and have identified Bony as a perfect target.

The 24-year old scored 31 goals and made 8 assists in 30 league appearances which made him the top scorer in Holland, 4 clear of Graziano Pelle.

Bony who has been watched closely by Newcastle over the past few weeks is expected to cost a fee of around £15million which could deter both clubs from trying to sign the Ivorian international but they may be willing to lower his price if the two parties can get a reasonable return.
